Discovery Networks has acquired a one-off documentary from UK indie Zig Zag Productions exploring the circumstances around Michael Jackson’s death.
Discovery channels in Italy, Germany and the Nordics will air Killing Michael Jackson (1×60’), featuring the three detectives who led the original investigation into the pop star’s death in 2009.
Orlando Martinez, Dan Myers and Scott Smith will re-examine the case with the help of exclusive audio interviews with Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, and other witnesses, as well as previously unseen archive material.
The film will also air on Discovery’s Quest Red channel in the UK to mark the 10th anniversary of the singer’s death. It has also been picked up by Polsat Television in Poland, TVNZ in New Zealand and Medialaan in Belgium.
“This film focuses on the intriguing circumstances surrounding Michael Jackson’s death, giving audiences a fascinating insight into the final moments of the pop star’s life and the criminal process that lead to the arrest and conviction of Dr Conrad Murray,” said Zig Zag MD Matt Graff.
